STUD

Postby DanR » Sat May 03, 2008 6:32 am

I want to remove the round inspection plate to set the timing. The wing nut stud is bent over 90 deg. My question is can the stud be replaced after it breaks off as I'm sure it will?

I assume the is on the new "A". If you wiggle carefully with some Kroil, it may screw out. The stud that is.

Making the same assumption, the stud is welded to the crossbar. Once you take the wing nut off, the whole bar/stud part comes out. It is the same as the Cub (literally the same part number).

May have to do some fabrication, but it is not bad.

The cross bar did not come out without a fight. It was packed tightly in grease and everything you would find in a squirrel nest including the acorns. Wonder how it got in there.
