I am needing an exhaust "elbow" like the one in this epay listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0393316081 - this guy seems very proud of the things he sells (based on his prices) :o . I wondered if the models he lists are possible sources for the same part and if anyone could point me in the direction of a cheaper one? I don't know the IH part number, either - it might help my search...

Thanks

RR:

| know the 340U is the Utility version of the Farmall 340. I am assuming that yours would be a Diesel.. so I checked Messicks and voila Farmall 340 Diesel. Trying to find exhaust parts in the Diesel section but no luck yet.. probably cause I am not looking in the right area. Ahhh found it :!: Vertical Exhaust - don't see an elbow. Underslung Exhaust.. elbow :D

The Farmall 340 Gas version is on the site as well. Here is the link for the Exhaust System - Carbureted Engines.

I didn't check other models, but the 240 and 340 gas are the same part, 368484R11. The 340 Diesel is different. According to Messick's, the 340 Diesel elbow is NLA. They show 368484R11 for about $250 but replaced by A49863 for about $28, which is just the insulating wrap. I assume $250 was the elbow price when it dropped out of the lists. They show 368484R1 (which would be the elbow without the insulating wrap on it) for about $315. So it looks like you can get a new one for $315 and add $28 worth of insulation and be good to go. Makes the price of the one on eBay not look as bad, even though it still needs the insulation.

Thanks guys - mine is actually a gas model. I guess I need to consider the one that is listed for sale seeing the price a new one costs.
