I bought this tractor as a running tractor in need of repairs, after 2 years, new paint and tires, It's ready to work. I will probably convert the 2 point lift, to a 3 point , and add rear remotes in addition to lift cylinder. 1950 model DC

looking good. I once heard that the steering was sticking out the front of those because the engineers forgot it till the rest was down, and always wondered if that was true, but never quite believed.

Nah! It's a built in chicken roost. :D

Our neighbor had a "SC", It was a standard contest to see if it would out pull our JD "B". It never made it.

I've always thought it was just to make the tractor more modular. Bolt on front ends for tricycle, wide, narrow, tall etc.

They do look pretty odd though.

I have to agree.... couldn't the engineers thinking something up better then a chicken roost??? Its so odd looking. this dc actually has pretty good power, not sure how it would stand up against a good running JD B. thanks,Jim

I grew up putting in a lot of time on a DC. Dad had a neighbor put in the M&W Power Pac, boy did that make a real difference in power. Hand clutch was a real plus.

DC is quite a bit more horsepower than a JD B and about 1000 pounds heavier. I'd imagine the DC would out pull a B handily. More in line with an A depending on the year.

Out pulling an SC was not much to brag about, from what I have heard they were noted for being underpowered.
