I recently purchased this tractor for the original owner and when I had it running I noticed a leak just above the carb. Can this just be welded or is it more complexed.
Thank you,
John

Re: 1955 Case VAC LeakWhat kind of leak? Water? Oil? And from where specifically?

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem. My wife says I don't listen to her. - - - - - - - - Or something like that! http://www.cubtug.com
Re: 1955 Case VAC LeakIt is a water leak on the side of the engine above the carb.
Re: 1955 Case VAC LeakIf it is from a crack in the block the crack can be repaired in a number of ways from welding to pouring in a sealant such as waterglass. Locating the crack is the first step. You could then drill the ends to stop the spreading and perhaps cut a groove and fill with JB Weld. Best case scenario would be a leaking head gasket which could be replaced. It will take some investigation on your part first to determine the exact cause and proceed from there.
I'm sure others have their favorite crack repair methods and will chime in. Bigdog
