Bob Phillips aka Spaceghost highly recommended it to me, thanks for bringing it...got to get it and read it.

A Corporate Tragedy is a great book; it will give you a good understanding as to how and why IH made good regarded equipment for so long and then sold off most of the company. But is not in print at this time so I talked to my local library and they found and ordered the book from another library.

That weird looking b250 almost looks like IH had some extra W-4 hoods and put them on last minute.

If she doesn't listen then you don't have to. As well if she speaks or yells from in the house when you are in the shop or speaks to herself in a muffled way ....you don't have to bother, just to my way of thinking.

The Farmall DLD-2 has a two cylinder diesel engine, The DED-3 has a three cylinder diesel engine and the DGD-4 has a four cylinder diesel engine.
German tractors, of any brand, were all diesels from the mid-50s onwards due to tax rules that favored diesel fuel in agriculture in Germany.
The "D' series Farmalls (D-212 etc.) came later.
The model numbers in the "D" series are explained as the first digit (2,3 or 4) is the number of cylinders and the next two digits (*12 etc.) are the "rated BHP" .
The little D-212 (2 cylinder, 12 rated BHP) was the Diesel equivalent to the Farmall Cub in Germany.

The French built a version of the US Farmall Super C called Super "FC" and a "Super Cub" version of the late 50s US Farmall Cub.
The British built a version of the US Farmall M - (Farmall "BM") and later US Super M (Farmall Super "BM")
The Australians built a (Farmall "AM" and later Farmall Super "AM") as well as an Australian "McCormick AW-6" standard tractor (similar to US "W-6" model)

Ozz, there was a diesel FC at one of the Red Power Roundups a few years back that was a really nice rig. It caught my attention from about 50 yards away due to the unusual sound it made setting there idling. I think I still have pictures of it if you are interested.

Looks like a German built Farmall DED-3 (three cylinder diesel)
The four cylinder DGD-4 had a different exhaust manifold going by the following pictures shown in this subject.

Australia built tractors based on the H/M/4/6 design well into the 1960's, if I'm not mistaken.

I have a picture of an A-514 on my wall from an old calendar. It is clearly a Farmall H with a direct-start diesel engine and hood styled like a Farmall 460.

The Farmall A-514 was built in the early 1960s and was a follow on from the original Aussie Farmall Super AMD (A = Australian)
The Australian built Farmalls were based on an evolution of the original Farmall M tractors.
Aussie built diesel Farmall evolution went Super AMD, AM-7 Diesel, A-514, A-554 and finally Farmall 564 which finished in 1973.

They all used the AD-264 engine, which is similar to the British BD-264 direct start diesel used in the British Farmall B-450 etc.

Hi josh it is a German built DED-3, it is owned by my grandfather,(im getting towed on the cub) and is located in new Zealand
and was sold new from the workshop that my grandfather bought after IH moved to a new premises in town.

If anyone has any information on DED-3's or knows of where to find any please let me know.
