I was told this is a Diesel Cub made in Germany. I took some photos of it. I am in the process of tying to buy this tractor. Even if it's not a Cub I like the looks of it and think it should live at my house. Any help with identification would help. Thanks in advance.
Scott.

hi,

as far as I Known it's not an cub at all. it's a farmall DLD2, made in Germany, in the Neuss factory.
it has a two cylinders diesel engine that's about 15 HP.

very nice tractor indeed.

Yaume beat me to the reply, he is right it's a DLD2 made in Germany, and not a Cub.

Thanks for the info. Does anyone know what a fair price would be for this tractor?

Have you heard it run? Two cylinders inline can have only two different possible firing orders and the firing orders are dictated by the crankshaft design. The John Deere firing order is from a crank with throws like a bicycle crank, one piston up while the other is down. Strong and simple. Even-firing two cylinders with that crank can be achieved with opposing cylinders, like a BMW motorcycle. Even-firing inline requires a crank that has both pistons up (or down ) simultaneously. That crank is much harder to balance.
Kubota had a few 2-cylinder Diesels with the JD firing order- that was long ago.

Scott, believe it or not, I've seen that tractor in person. Must be a small world after all.

I spoke with him today. It's priced too far out of my range. But I really like this tractor
