IH Hammer Mill!

A fellow Cub enthusiast found this gem for me:

It's a #6. Right much bigger than a 4E! The duct from the base of the mill to the blower has a rust through issue but I think that I can fix that easily. The pipe going to the dust collector has been collapsed but doesn't look too bad to fix. I like the fact it has the double bagging attachment. The hammers barely have any wear to them. Has a screen for shelled corn, hope I can find one for ear corn sometime.

I really like the stenciling for the model number. It looks like they laid a stencil on the dust collector and did the numbers and letters by hand.

I just have to find a belt for it, fix the ducts, and I think I'll be ready to grind feed!

I have an NOS #6 hammer mill in the shed from my Grandpa's old Store. It literally has never been used. All the original paint is still there. I will be getting it out and showing it next summer I hope and maybe run it for the first time.

Beyond cool! Would love to see pics!

Is it decal-ed McCormick or McCormick-Deering?

I will try and get some pics of it next time I up there. My uncle has had the drum sitting on the ground in the Corn crib for the past 3 yrs and not with the hammer unit. It is not perfect paint but close enough. The story I got it is grandpa donated it to the local club and a gentleman brought it back to my uncle and before he died with the story that he asked grandpa if they could display it at the show. My uncle tells me it has never been used. When I looked at it 3 yrs ago when it returned, I did not see any evidence it had been used. Once I get my shed up here next fall it will have a permanent place indoors.
