I was recently given a 1944 H as a gift, given what it needs I'm not sure it was a gift. In any case, I finished a complete rebuild on my 55 cub last winter, so it's time for a new project. The engine will need a complete overhaul which I'm prepared to do if I can determine just what engine it has. The only casting number I can fine is 6695BE. I'm assuming it's a C-152 but with all the research I have done, I can't find that casting number listed anywhere. I've decided it was time to come to the experts, if any one of you could enlighten me on just what I have, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks very much.

Re: 1944 H engine casting number
You misread the D as a B. 6695DE was an original H engine block.

Jim
You were absolutely correct, scraping all the paint off in the middle of the letter reveled the D. Thanks much for your reply, I knew an expert would keep a novice out of trouble.
