Hi All, :)
Does anybody know if parts are available to repair the origional U-joint on the steering shaft of the Farmall H? I see the aftermarket u-joints but nothing for the origional.

cross and bearing kits are available. http://www.valu-bilt.com has them. $7.89 to $11.19 is the price range. You will have to disassemble and measure.

Suggest trying your local autoparts store, Case IH, local machine shop, industrial supply, farm and ranch store.

It's been years but I purchased a U joint for a B at my local machine shop. The parts should be cheaper than the entire u-joint.

Thanks Eugene. I'll check into it a little deeper. When I seen the replacement u-joint, I just took it for granted that that was all that was offered.

Thanks again,

Does the top half come off the steering shaft?--This parts H looks like it's made on, but the bottom looks to have the keway or pin whatever holds it on! Never looked at one real close before, but the top "fork" part is made different than the bottom section, and cross-shaft/bearing caps look to be standard spicer joint. Too cold to stay out there and take the hood off!! thanks; sonny

Sonny,

I'm thinking that the upper u-joint yoke is part of the shaft. I'll look tomorrow if I remember.
