there are two different filters for the H's... one is taller and not as big around if I remember right, I cant' remember for sure, been a while since I ordered one...

My 1950 H takes #1172.And yes there are 2 differnt ones.I don't remember the other Number!!Kevin

Just checked the tall one[7.5 as opposed to 5.50] would be 1125.

The correct filter element is determined by which cover/bolt is on the tractor. If all else is in proper working order, oil pressure won't be changed by which filter is used.

On the W-4/H series the tall oil filter is for the early models. The '39 and '40 models maybe a little longer. I'll have to check my parts books
