H4 magneto parts

Postby DelValCub » Thu Aug 23, 2012 11:19 am

As I seem to have my cub up and running the way I would like, I have moved my attention to the McCormick Deering W4 that has been waiting patiently. Upon inspection I found that the magneto is not working properly and that a previous owner had switched it over to and external coil battery ignition. I would like to return it back to a fully functioning magneto ignition but have run into a few issues. When the switch was made many of the internal parts were taken out of the mag. I seem to not have a the armature that goes through the coil, as well as the bolt and tap that lock the condenser in place, also the nuts and pieces that hold the wires on the condenser on the outside of the magneto. I was wondering if anyone knew were i could get these parts without having to buy a parts mag as they can be a little pricey. Any advice in this matter would be greatly appreciated and feel free to ask any question.

Thank you,
A.J.

I've got a surplus H4 mag off a Farmall A. It's missing the distributor cap but all the internals are there. Not sure if it is hot (may need a coil) but if it will do you any good make me an offer. It's taking up valuable space! :)
