Farmall H - Engine Rebuild

Hi there - if you've done an overhaul on a Farmall H engine - could please reply with what it cost to complete and what you needed to do? My H starts and runs well but it's smoking pretty bad - suspect sleeves and rings are in order. I'm just trying to get an idea before I go ripping it apart.

Those are dry sleeves, and they require a puller to remove them. It consists of a stepped disk on the bottom and a frame that rests on top with a center threaded shaft to pull them out. To reinstall we put the sleeves in a freezer overnight, and using gloves one person set them in place and the other one used a mallet with a block of wood to drive them down. Note, you only get one try before they warm and lock in place.
