Help Needed

Postby Don McCombs » Fri Jun 05, 2015 6:51 pm

I'm looking for a forum member who is a good Farmall H mechanic. I have several questions that I would like to pose off-line. Thanks.

Don, I have a little experience and have a couple friends who in my book are tractor gurus. Shoot me a PM and I'll see if I can help. John

not necessarily a good H mechanic, but have worked on them, having been raised on one.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

I think the H that I was going to ask a few questions about has been sold. :(
I was not fast enough.

In that case... what were your questions?

I don't know about Maryland, but in this part of Texas you can get an H for LESS than scrap price!
M's also.... I had a guy give me an M for free as long as I promised it would NOT get melted down.

Super H's and M's, 300's, 350's 400's and 450's are A completely different story. Nobody gives those away.

There was some welding on the front of the tractor that I don't think was supposed to be there. Unfortunately, it disappeared too quick for me to get photos. I think the price was reasonable for here at $1400. Matters not now, though. :(

Sigh....
yes, sadly these great machines have been abused horribly over the years.
I have seen a lot of welding performed on many Farmall tractors that were abused.
Some good repairs, some not so much.
I should post up some pictures.

Closer to Pittsburgh
http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/grd/5096611408.html Fairly nice M for $1700.... It's worth about $1200 in Texas in that condition

THIS one might be a nicer candidate: http://westmd.craigslist.org/grd/5097489027.html (See if he'll take $1000)
