64$ question?

Postby Dusty B » Fri Sep 30, 2022 7:50 am

To salvage or not? Really on the fence - really good 6' woods mower, hew front tires, good rear rims & tires(would probably keep and switch) 2 seats -different types!,cons - motor stuck, transmission rusted solid!, sheet metal good! Do I bite the bullet and start listing parts on the Vine? or disassemble and try to rejuvenate? Don't really need another BN, have my grandfather's '41 - but they are a handy! negative, no hydraulic! Decisions, decisions! Next thing would be pricing parts? Open to opinions! :help:

Sell the mower seperately. Keep the tires/rims and any parts you want.

Scrap iron/steel is currently worth $100 - $120- a gross ton. You would probably get a bit more selling the remainder as a parts tractor.
I have an excuse. CRS.

As bad of shape it sounds like it is, it's better to part it out or sell it as a whole. If you want to have another BN, you'll spend a lot less money and time on a better specimen than the one you have. Tip: keep the one you have until the second one is done, then sell what remains.

That I go with.

I have two WD Allis. One WD Allis that I'm parting out. Parts are worth much more than the tractor. Actually I have the parts tractor stored inside. It's got one almost 100% rear tire, decent front tires, and the motor still runs. It needs a PTO shaft and hydrualic pump, $1000- to make it a working tractor. For around $1000- or a bit more I can purchase a farm ready tractor.
