I removed the main Pulley the other day. Noticed a groove around the area that rides on the seal . It is concentric about .005 deep, is this right or is it suppose to be staight all the way out. Do I need to weld and turn on the lathe?

I imagine you can get a "Speedi Sleeve" from local NAPA that is driven over the grooved shaft. Chicago Rawhide is who produced the sleeve I used on my Cub. Hope this helps.

a
speedi sleeve is a replacement sleeve that goes ocer the shaft to cover the worn area. it then uses a slightly different oil sal. Napa will need to know the part number of your original seal, to match it. check with your local IH dealer, cub front main seals come with the sleeve, one for your BN may also.

The BN should use the same seal as the Cub. Get one from your CaseIH dealer with the sleeve.
