If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem. My wife says I don't listen to her. - - - - - - - - Or something like that! http://www.cubtug.com
Thanks Bigdog
We hope to have it done in time to rake hay for my Mother. My eldest son has laid claim on it over the Cub,however Momma has also laid claim to the BN. In the end Momma Wins. "Work Hard ,Play Often,Care Always"
Yes it is converted to 12v , but am toying with the idea of reverting back to 6 v . what
are the main reasons for leaving it to 12 v. can the original generators be converted to 12 v or can you get something that looks original? Thanks PWL "Work Hard ,Play Often,Care Always"
Well,
My A of similar vintage cranks over hard and fast with the original 6V system. I don't know if there are more "original" looking 12 V systems, but you can always pick up a 6v generator for it, and they don't seem any more problematic than those on the cubs. Of course, painting your GM alternator Red makes something of a statement as well..... And, with your wife standing next to it, not too many guys will ever notice....
all i can say is WOW that looks GREAT
btw, what's the welding burns on the front grill looks great, Johnny 70 Brockway 361

Heated and straightened. Reading up on shrinking and stretching metal. Got it pretty straight. had to push the middle out . if I remember right . When I was a kid we were pushing a load of hay up a hill, as the barns all had hill approaches and some bales fell into the front of the grill and bent it. been that way for about 30 yrs.

I have heard that you can send in a 6 volt generator and have it converted to 12 V ,is this fact or fiction. I would like to get the generator back on and remove the alternator.
