Check oil

Postby Ximmortal » Fri Jun 28, 2019 10:25 am

Just bought a super m with a front loader and restoring it runs good had a little problem getting the fan belt on but couple hours of brushing with WD-40 and tapping on the collar work. Was checking for an oil dipstick insult to plugs on the oil pan I'm guessing them how you check it I take it the top one is full so what is the second one for.

Open the top plug. Observe. Open the bottom plug. Observe. If nothing runs out of either plug, close bottom plug and add oil until it runs out of the top one. If oil runs out of bottom plug only, you're good. If oil runs out of both plugs, you're overfilled. You want the oil level to be somewhere between the two plugs. Keep in mind that the holes in the drain cocks my be plugged with oil and crud. If no oil runs out, probe them with a wire or stick or small screwdriver to ensure that they aren't plugged up.

Thank you. This was useful since I was getting ready to change the oil in it and change the oil filter. Not knowing when the last time the oil was changed but it was kind of black
