Looking at a 53 Super M, engine stuck, straight sheet metal but rusty, good tread on tires just starting to weathercheck, add on powersteering, needs seat. Doesn't appear to have been abused but has been sitting outside quite awhile. Want to make an offer that is fair to both parties.

My neighbor has one with fenders, and rear weights been sitting inside for years, and is a working tractor. He will sell for $1000. Come and get this one.

Lil Red,

All depends on what you want to spend. Some guys feel someone is better to buy a running one, because alot of money can be dumped into a stuck tractor. Never know what you will find. I'd low ball the offer and you can also go up. I know where a Louisville SM , stage 2 it setting rotting away. She is stuck, no tires, and missing the hood, otherwise complete. One of these days, I'm gonna offer them $250 and probably get it bought. As it sits, isn't worth much more. Offer $500-750 and go from there. Good luck.

I'm not Doc, but appears to be an M. belly hydraulic pump rather than live hydraulics. can't read the serial number plate, or see the brakes.

On the value of the stuck Super M. My best offer would be scrap iron price. You never know what your are getting if you can't give it a good test drive.

Better off purchasing a running Super M or M.

Looking at the brake covers, it has the band brakes, so as John said, a plain M. I do believe early Super M's still had the belly pumps on them. They did have disc brakes, though. Some late regular M's had the disc brakes also. Later Super M's had the battery under the seat and the hydraulic resevoir under the tank with live hydro like the MTA's. Of course if I'm a remembering right.
