I bought it. Picking it up next Tuesday. I will be putting it in the shed till I find rims and tires though. It maybe one of the dumbest things I have done at this point but I hope I will be able to recover from it later. Got it for 1300 I think it is a fair deal but not a great deal.... I hope there is nothing wrong that is hidden. It is definantly a gamble. But to part it would bring me a lot more money. But not likely to happen...

I felt like I couldn't go wrong buying this, it has nice metal work, power steering (bringing big money on ebay), all lights are there, the 2 point hitch, and down side is it needs a tach and new rim and tire. I will be buying a Flat rim and welding the new bars on. Sound like an interesting task and I like to do new and different stuff.

I would like to thank all for your help and info, but if anyone close to Champaign has a good used tire, I will be interested in talking, looking for a 14.9-38. Thanks

Thanks
Jason

IMO, I won't come right out and say you "stole" it, but I think you got a real deal. Even if your TA does not work, (I don't recall if you said it did or not) I think you got a good price.

I got it home today, put a fresh battery in it, and it started right up. That was the great thing.
Now the Generator seems to be not charging, so I took it off and will be taking it in to get checked out tomorrow.

2nd problem?? I noticed when I shut the PTO off there is a growling or grinding noise inside, is that something I need to give attention to or will it be OK.

3rd - How hard would it be to wire an altenator up on this tractor?? If the Generator is bad and altenator would prolly be the best route to go Right? It would eliminate the Voltage Reg and be a direct read. I would nee a lot of help there because that is not my strong point at all.

Anyway, I will be taking off the tires next week and have found a rim to weld bars on. All I need now is a tire and tube. A 14.5 to a 14.9 x 38 would be nice to find quickly.

The PTO on the 450 I had was noisy when it was disengaged. I usually left it engaged (make sure the shield is covered!) so it would be quieter.
