v 8 m projectDoes anyone know if anyone makes a adapter kit for an farmall m to install a small block chevy i have a 383 stroker moter that needs a home and what better than my m that has a bad engine thanks
Re: v 8 m projectI have never heard of any but my cousin it in the process of doing the same thing and an uncle of mine and former IH engineer put a Lincoln V8 in an M but they made all their own adapters the frame rails on the m need to be altered to fit a 350.(but not a Lincoln V8 as they are narrower)

Re: v 8 m projectI don't know this for certain, but I thought that Perkins, M&W or somoene like that had made diesel engines to drop in to Farmall M and 400/500 tractors. I would think that they used an adaptor plate of some kind.
Also, look up Gary Dotson's post and pictures about his Cubota tractor, where he used a Kubota 3-cylinder diesel engine in a Farmall Cub tractor. He made his own adaptor plate out of 1/2" steel plate. I would think that something like that could also easily be fabricated.
