If no one comes up with anything today, I'll measure mine when I get home tonight and post it for you in the morning...

Measured it last night with the hood on, done the best I could. From the bottom side of the shell body down to the centerline of the 90 turn to the carb inlet 16-1/2" Filter intake...measured from the top of the shell body to the underside of the my precleaner was 7-1/2" Hope that helps.

i wasn't exactly clear, i guess. the tube that was removed from my air cleaner was the vertical air inlet tube that goes through the hood. it is supposed to go through the air cleaner and into the oil reservoir in the cup at the bottom. i just don't know how far below the screen retainer to set the tube. sorry for the confusion.

Well now I understand...if you still need it let me know. I can pull the cup off the air cleaner and get the measurement down from the screen tonight.

Art,

Got your measurement over the long weekend...I hope. The Intake pipe sticks down below the screen into the cup 7/8". I would've posted it a couple days ago, but still having computer issues at home. I hope this is the measurement you're looking for.
