Scotty D.: There is an Installing Instructions & parts list. I have the Manual and also have it on files I can E-mail you. It is 6 pages and prints out to full size. E-mail me at wdeturck@verizon.net and I will send it to you. It will be a large file.

I did scare myself when I went to look at my Original copy. I couldn't find page 3 & 4 and I thought I lost it. I was looking through my books to see if I misplaced it  . It is a 3 page folder and I didn't realize the missing pages were folded in. I printed the missing page  .

I was reading the manual and it said that you had to cut a hole in the frame for the lever. both my cadets and my other frames all have holes for it. Was this only in early ones?

Scotty
Yes, the early Originals did not have a hole in the frame for the creeper handle The directions for where to drill the hole, in frames without one, are a little off I believe, and the hole has to be enlarged or elongated to make it work. I don't think anyone has come up with a serial number break as to when the factory started punching the holes in the frames..

I used the dimensions given in the manual and I noted that the hole should move an 1/8" forward to be centered perfectly. I only saw one other Original with a round !" hole and that was at RPRU on the Original with the chrome air filter and eagle painted on the hood. He didn't have the rubber grommet which I do have in mine. I have a steel 3/8" rod on my creeper and when I'm in low it presses hard on the grommet. I think the earliest I found are May of 62 for the creeper slot. I didn't get enough response to get an accurate time when the creeper slot went in. I have seen a lot of butchered holes  . I still have the 1" hole saw for the hole if you want to borrow it.

The Original, and 70/100 did not have/use a Creeper decal, although some people use them because the want them. I have a 100 with a creeper decal that I put on before I discovered it shouldn't be there, and I just never removed it.
