UD6 creeper parts

Postby cubcowboy » Fri Dec 15, 2006 5:46 pm

I have a UD6 creeper for a cub original and the planetary gears are good but the two main gears are chipped. I can't find Danco anywhere on the net, does anyone know where to get parts for these?
Thanks for all replies and Happy Holidays.

You will probably have to find another unit to rob the parts from. There are very few, if any, parts available for the UD6 with the exception od reproduction shift handles and maybr the drive pin and seals.

CubCowboy: The UD-6 is a gear reduction and hot a planetary gear type like the creeper used in later Cubs. The only part available is one bearing and a key on the dealer parts sights. I can't find C&C Cub Parts site that had the reproduction handle and the drive pin.

There is welding rod made for welding teeth on gears too. I went to school for it but i can't remember the # rod. I think it was made by Certainium alloys and research company. There products aren't cheap but there top of the line. I took their 707 rod and welded one side in a filet and you can't break that one weld off. The 707 rod is 125k tensile strength and work hardens to 250k if it sees any flex or stress at all. I welded the plow frame on my jeep with it and i put that jeep air borne with the plow and all my welds held up. I hit a large rock in the deep snow by accident. The rock is no longer with us on this side of the green it looks up at us now I buried it.

BTW: I'm not sure if the gear welding material is an arc rod or a TIG rod.

I did the same thing with my 1970 F100 and broke all the motor mounts in the thing-I know what it feels like!
