Does anyone have a part number other than the IH part number for replacement brushes for the starter/generators on the IH 154's/IH cub cadets? Is there a cheaper source for them?
I'm not sure how old my starter generators are so why take a chance? Two new bearings with a set of brushes and there rebuilt for my lifetime.

I purchased a set of brushes and bearings for the starter/generator from my local autoparts store.
I don't remember the price. I'm thinking less than $10- for the brushes and two bearings.
Bearing were ordered by the number off the old bearing. Brushes were ordered by measuring the dimensions of the old brush.

Find a REAL auto parts store. Not one of those floor mat stores like Auto Zone. Good parts stores will have bushings/bearings in a parts drawer and they can match them right up.
