I am thinking about buying a new Cub Cadet LT1024. This model has a Briggs and Stratton 24 HP twin cylinder motor, hydrostatic transmission, and 50" mower deck. This model is sold by Cub Cadet dealers and by Lowe's. Has anyone purchased this model :?: Pros and/or cons :?:

Can't help you with the Cadet in particular, but I have a White (MTD) with the 18 horse twin that I've had for several years and it's been trouble free. The one short coming is they doan't have any lugging ability. Once it pulls the rpm down you're out of torque.

From the way my local dealer talked, you would probably be happier with one of the 2000 series Cub Cadets rather than one of the 1000 series. I collect IH built Cub cadets and buy a lot of parts and older Cub Cadets from a local dealer. When I was thinking about buying a new one and looking at what he had, when I looked at the three different hp versions of the I000 series he had on the floor and asked questions about them, the only answer I got was a quietly spoken "I won't sell you one of them". I didn't ask any more questions about them and he didn't offer any more answers, we just moved on over to the three 2000 series tractors that were there. I don't know anything about the tractors, but I figured he did......
