Anyone on this side of the forum have any interest/experience with the walk behind mower manufactured for IH by Outboard Marine Corporation?

Yes, had one for about 25 years and it worked perfect. Matter of fact, wish that I had never gotten rid of it.
They were actually produced by Lawn Boy for IH.
That is a pretty nice one that you have there. Although Lawn Boy was bought out by Toro, and they are no longer producing Lawn Boy mowers, you can still get many of the parts for those mowers from a Toro dealer.

It runs! got around to playing with it today, took about three hours. Did some preventative maintenance and checked a few other things. Sea foam on the rings and 2 cycle in the crankcase. Had to clean the carb. (black goo inside and jets stopped up) and adjust the recoil starter. Runs real good on high speed.

Went to start it day before yesterday, no go. So yesterday I refreshed a carb off another locked up spare engine. Started on first pull and ran great except for an issue with the fuel line. Fell off the cut off 3 times! A tie wrap fixed that.
