I just picked up a 3240 hoping I could put the axle
and power steering in my 070,I could certainly use
some pointers if anybodys done this before. The
plumbing got me alittle lost as for what's power what's
return what size pump I should supply the
steering valve with.I was switching the trans over to
standard but now with the foot control on the floor
on the 3240 would it be a better idea to use this trans and try to
get it in the narrow frame and would the 12 hp power
this trans ok,thanks in advance for advice

I realize they are your tractors, but my question is, why? The 70 is a 7 hp collectable tractor, the 3240 is a 1 year only 40th anniversary model with a 20 hp engine, and is somewhat collectable. It is going to take a lot of modifications to the frame and sheet metal of the 70, to do what you want. Putting a hydrostatic transmission (and one with not the best service record) and a hydraulic system in a narrow frame gear driven tractor is not going to be easy due to the size of the componets and the space available. You asked about the "12 hp powering this", where does the 12 hp come into play, a 70 only has 7 hp unless someone has switched the engine.

As to someone having done this before......... I doubt it, but if you are serious, good luck with your project.

Thank you for your interest Paul sorry I wasn't
clear the 070 which is really a 123 that's been reworked
that can be viewed in a earlier post, the 3240 has
motor issues hydraulic lift issues and was brought
cheaply for this project.I think I'm going to stay
away from the hydro trans all together and stick
to the plan and go with the standard trans.
