Battery questionThe 100 I have been working on has the large battery box. I bought a lawn and garden style of battery to put in it, but now need that L&G battery elsewhere. After some research and some measuring I think a group 24 size battery is what I need. Is that right? Any body use something different? Any suggestions?

Re: Battery questionDon't know about the battery box size on the 100.
I have a group 55 in a CC 105. Still a bit of room for a slightly larger physical sized battery. I have been using weak car batteries, if they fit, installing them in Cub Cadets. Last for years. I have an excuse. CRS.
Re: Battery questionI'm not sure what the correct size is, but I use typical lawn and garden batteries in all my Cadets. Go to WalMart and get the higher cranking amp Lawn & Garden battery. I think they are around $25 and I believe it is 650 cca. They have a lower one, I believe 450cca for $20, but I would not use it as it will strain to turn over the engine after a while.

If you can use a group 24, the area must fit a battery 10 1/4 long x 6 13/16 wide x 8 7/8 high Jeff
