Just got back in and saw all the posts regarding the blade issue. I checked and the blades are correct. I was holding the deck up with one hand and taking the photo with the other.

Id like to see the pics of it when you found it.

there are a few little things , like the oil fill tube, should be on the left side of the block. the heat shield isnt correct. looks like a 10hp from what I can see.
the hood bumps should be cork not sticky back black foam rubber.

4Speed, I you're wrong on all accounts. All of the things you've mentioned were true for the 122/123 tractors and older, but were changed on this series (1x4 / 1x5 tractors) starting in 1967 and moving forward. The dipstick tube was moved from low/short on the side of the block, to the vertical position as noted in Mark's photos. The heat shield was stamped flat instead of having the bevel on it, and they did away with the cork and used black rubber strips for the hood stops.

Boy was I excited to hear of this nos tractor...sadly its just a really nice original low hour tractor. Also the side oil camshaft cover dipstick was only replacment engines...and the 147.

Sadly I'm afraid that you have no idea what you are talking about or you did not clearly see the photo. The dipstick is in the proper location for the the model and year. It's not side mounted its on the top of the block. And I'm sorry about your lack of excitement.

Sorry the comment on the dipstick was actually directed at 4speed... he was i beleive refering to the dipstick location in the camshaft cover... which was on replacement engines.
Your tractor looks spot on... aside from the rear worklight, which is a crying shame!.... certainly an extrodinary find... you definitly dont see them in that condition very often. too bad that model didnt come with an hour meter.
We have seen a few true nos tractors found in crates... or what was left of the crate. never fired at all.... which is kinda what i thought this was when i first heard of it.
Sadly i i know a great deal about these tractors.... well my girlfriend thinks its sad anyhow!

sorry if I ticked you off. I was only going by the look of my 67 125 . if every time I post, I get talked down at like I just did. I'll not be back. I'll be the first to say I dont know it all about them.

I didnt like the yellow engine block , so its black and the starter /gen is cast color. not correct but I like it.

I have reread all the posts in this thread and saw nothing that would indicate any one was talking down to you. Gitractorman was pointing out that he felt your info for the 125 was wrong but he did keep it respectful. Respect is the name of the game here guys, this thread has some useful info about the 125, let's keep it that way.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Agreed. Respect is the name of the game. I do not see any evidence of patronizing or demeaning phrasing.

Your 125 is very nice, I like what you did with it. I do hope you will keep returning. Sometimes misunderstandings happen, but once resolved, conversation can be quite positive.

I like that rear light Mark - is the mount made out of a long bolt with a nut on top/bottom?

It was installed at the deal. I have the invoice. It appears to be off a cub.

Howdy folks! Seen this thread and I had just now become a member! Mark, The IH Cub Cadet 125 was part of the 1968 line up. Those models were, I believe ,.. a 72, 104, 105, 124, and 125. I think the 154 Lo-Boy debuted as well. Also it would appear to me that the {k301} oil fill spout/bayonet dip stick is in fact correct for your model year. I don't know for sure that the mower deck blades are on backwards with out first going out and checking mine.

What we do know is that the previous owner used it once or twice and went right to push mowing. This is one of the most cleanest garden tractors I have seen yet! Very nice find. The Blue Ribbon Service Manual for your IHCC is # GSS-1349 w/ revision1. Very interesting story and machine, thanks for sharing!

Opps,...wanted to correct the BRSM, your service manual # would be GSS-1398, not GSS-1349. I guess I'm awaiting approval. Hope to see more of your 125 :!:

Sold it. It going to a good home. The owner is very happy with his one of a kind 125. I may kick myself in the coming years that I let this go but I'm downsizing. At least I have the pictures and a good story to tell.
