Farmall Cub

I removed my neutral safety switch today and took it to the local Cub dealer, to my surprise there going out of business. Well needless to say but I didn't get what I wanted. The nice lady there looked it up for me on partstree . com . Said she would be glad to order it , and that would be $44.00. I declined, and asked if I could please have the part number. 925-3038
Since I'm financially embarrassed, does anybody know where I can get a switch like this? Does NAPA have something similar? By the way ,do we have an exploded view
of the starting system. I'd like to get the I-H part number Thanks in advance.

I believe the lady gave you the IH part number. Try your local auto parts store - take in the old switch for comparison. Or nearest IH/Case or New Holland dealership with the IH part number.

Many neutral safety switches have been bypassed. I can't not legally tell you how to bypass the neutral safety switch. So my advise is not to do so, even though most have been bypassed.

Google can help with this sort of question. Sticking "switch 925-3038" into Google, gives back a list of sites. Looking at a couple at random, I found several in the $37 range and a cross reference to 382728R91. Googling that number brought me to Messick's, where they showed a new number of 121629C3 and a price of $21.26.

You need to verify that part number, but it looks like you can save some money by shopping around.

On the 127, what you're calling a "neutral safety switch" is actually the switch that indicates when the clutch/brake pedal is depressed fully. If you would like a $0.10 work around, you can cut a piece of 12-gauge wire about 2" long, form it into a U with spade connectors on each end, then insert each end into the socket on the wiring harness for the switch. If you want the free workaround, you can just cut the socket out of the harness and wire the two leads together. Just some thoughts. Obviously not the safest workarounds, but the 127 is not the safest of tractors anyway (as are any of the early CCs). Most hydros will creep even when the clutch/brake pedal is depressed anyway just from slop in the hydro linkage.

As others have said, if you really want the switch, I'd start at NAPA or looking online. It's just a open/closed contact switch.

Thanks guys, all good information. I'll check it out. There's more than myself involved in this machine, that's why I want to stay with the safety equipment.
Usually my wife runs the little Craftsman on the flat and I take the Cub Cadet on the hillside.But you never know.
We have 6 inches of snow here in southern WV but I'm pretty sure I heard that grass growing last week, well thanks again and everybody have a good day.

Old Prime Line parts catalog, Federated and NAPA, shows 10 push button (momentary - on/off) switches. Part number series starts at MP3916 thru/to MP 3969. Your local auto parts store should be able to match up your switch. Take in old switch to match switch features to their listing.

For used parts go to vogts performance engineering. They sell used cadet parts too. And there affordable too.
