I am thinking a 149 as well but the frame rail in Gitractorman's where his frame rail starts to curve above the 2 holes is different .this is straight untill the cut . The grill would be from a red cadet. Was there a recall on that grill when they were still IH? Some goodies that came from a dealer close out sale had several of those grills still in boxes.

Waterloo Bronco tractors used a 2 cyd Wisconsin but I don't know what model.A case baler and a ditchwitch chain trencher as well We had a few singles on grain augers and a v4 on a swather. That swather engine did not like hard work on a hot day

Yes, it's the same frame. You can see the jagged cut and where the rolled over piece is gone from that section of your frame. They just cut it straight back to make room for the Wisconsin engine. It's too bad that they hacked it like that. With some more careful planning, they could have cut underneath the roll, then bent that factory edge down and welded it inside and outside just underneath the roll, making it all look the same. Not a big deal, I'm just picky about those things.

Is the rear PTO functional on yours? It looks like it may just be cosmetic. The PTO shaft appears to be a standard 540-rpm pto, and the Cub Cadets didn't have that. The Cub Cadet PTO was like the one from a Farmall Cub, smaller diameter, more teeth, and spun the wrong direction at engine speed instead of 540-rpm. I'm guessing yours was just added on for looks, not function.

I'll bet its a real powerhouse with that Wisconsin engine and the larger wheels/tires. Probably a real tank!

The pto is just for looks. Don't know how much it will pull yet and it is powerfull but a grandson can sure get some speed out of it with those tall tires. The 18in tires came from a manure spreader and the wheels are old old truck rims.If it had a low range it might be a garden tractor puller.I have a front blade off a 149 I may try .Hyd lift and underbelly brackets are still there but will have to remove the front wieghts[wooden] to see if the front brackets are there.I can do something with the higher mounts

Well, kind of. I believe the numbers shown in the serial number table are last serial number completed for the month, so based on the serial number 467105, as end for April was 466839, it would have been built in May, as May's last serial number was 469814. The code 0047 at the end of the 2050047U is a machine code for a Cub Cadet 149 meaning that it was originally a 14-hp hydro.

My chart says "The listed number is the beginning S/N for the month" .

The chart I'm using was made by Paul Bell. The Cub Cadet was made in April of 1973.

I like that Wisconsin engine! I have one just like it, without a starter, attached to a Lincoln Welder.

My Hobart welder has this engine on it. I been saving some fabricated channel thinking of a project like this. I figure it's a tad longer than a cadet. You need to factor in hydraulics too. If we take two older jeep front and rear axles that are offset we can buy the two new shorter axles and shorten the longer tubes to have two narrow differentials. This would give us a 4x4 cadet?
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.
