peerless transaxle

I have a 1320 cadet, my daughter was mowing this morning and it quit moving.
The belt is tight and the rear pulley- fan is turning normally, and the fluid level is fine, but no go.
Is there any diagnostic work I can do, or is this just a case of replacement only?

Not familar with `1320, but most hydrostats have a lever or push rod you release to allow you to push them. are you sure it haen't slipped into the neutral poaition?

On the CCC 1110, Peerless hydro, there is a lever under the left fender. You pull the lever out then turn it down. This action depresses a plunger on the front of the hydro, releasing - unlocking the drive.

Perhaps something depressed the plunger.

The 1320 has a dump valve on the tunnel cover, it is not in the release position, it just stopped working while moving.

Check the dump valve on the hydro itself to see that it's not depressed. There should be linkage between the lever and the dump valve.

Dave: just looked at the parts reakdown on thet and the nly simple thing I can see is the key in the belt pulley sheared but that isn't likely. I had a 1320 andwas told they had troubles with that peerless hydro.

Well I finally got around to pulling the transaxle out of the 1320.
The first thing I discovered is that it is a Cub Cadet Corp. differential and a Sauer-Sundstrand hyrdo unit.
The problem turned out to be the couplings between the two units, there are 4 couplings to join the input and output shafts from and to the differential, the shafts are finely splined with brass couplings that slide onto the shafts, one of the couplings was stripped.
