Good Cub Cadet Books

Postby Soldner » Mon Aug 01, 2005 7:32 pm

Alright,
I'm going to need some advice.... Here's my problem.. My grandpa just picked up an Original Cub Cadet, and I want to get him a good book on Cub Cadets. He worked for IH when the tractors were released, and actually has owned and sold at least 10 Cub Cadets. He still owns 5, well now 6! He's an avid restorer, and i just was wondering if there is a good book that he'd enjoy. I haven't been able to actually physically look at the "Farmall Cub and Cub Cadet" book, and thought it might be a good choice.. Any Suggestions?! I could use all the help i can get with this one. Thanks everyone!

I think that book by Ken Updike has the most information you will find on Cub Cadets. There are a few mistakes and omissions but very informative book on the different models made by IH

After my manuals, it was the SECOND book I bought right after Guy Fay's Originality Guide.

Best book on Cub and Cub Cadet's available.

Hey Soldner...In addition to Ken's GREAT book, you may want to consider gettin' your Grampa an Owner's Manual for his "Original" Cub Cadet (or any of the others he has). You can find a lot of them on "E-Pay" and they make a GREAT gift at a fairly reasonable price!

That's a great book, i have it and love it. The only things i don't like about it is there seems to be enough info on the 107-106-127-126-147 series... which i have a 107. In addition, that one pic of a 149 with the 147 decals bothers me everytime i see it. Other than that, it's an excellent book 8)

Ken Updyke also has a new book out. If you go to this link it shows where to get both books and your grandad might want to visit this site.
