Why am I not getting emails?

I need some help figuring out why I'm not getting email notifications when I get a new PM or someone replies to one of my posts. I want to post a couple items for sale but not until I get this figured out. I had 1 item for sale on here and never knew anyone had inquired about it until I dropped by to post that it was sold. They had sent me a PM.

Go to the user control panel (link near upper left corner) and then click on "board preferences". Make sure the box is marked to notify you of PM's.

That item of the 'User Control Panel' does not seem to be working for me either. I also used to receive Emails upon a PM being sent to me, but suddenly stopped one day. I am on the board regularly and also have the 'pop up' notification, so didn't think of it as a big deal.

I don't think it is possible to recieve notification when someone replies to a post. Only when you receive a PM.

If you are not receiving your email prompts that tell you, "you have mail"

When you log on at the top left hand corner of the headers on each page you will see this:

User Control Panel (3 new messages) • View your posts

Simply click the New Messages link and poof there you go...

I don't think it is possible to recieve notification when someone replies to a post. Only when you receive a PM.

And, it is possible to receive notification on replies.. simply go back to the Preferences and then click Edit Posting Defaults and select the appropriate choices.

Also there is another problem that has a simple cure for it. Most ISP's are now using either Yahoo Mail or a similar set of protocols to filter spam. The email response from the forums is addressed from farmallc@farmallcub.com. This may be viewed by your provider/providers spam interface as bulk and/or spam. To counter your email response messages from Farmallcub.com being treated as spam, simply add farmallc@farmallcub.com to your address book and that will cure the problem.

Another fix is to go into your spam folder, find a message from farmallc@farmallcub.com, open and read it, then click NOT SPAM on the appropriate link. That should also do it.

I didn't get email notices for a couple PMs a week or so ago. I couldn't find any problems with my user control panel. Whatever the problem was seems to have gone away.

I figured it out. It had the wrong email address. I feel certain that the right one was there at some point but it had a pretty old one in when I checked just then. Anyway I got it fixed I hope. When someone else replies I guess I'll know for sure.

Apparently not. I didn't get an email for your reply. Hummm. My email account sends everything to me including spam. It prefixes some with spam if it thinks they are but I still get them. My email client sorts them and I've checked the spam folder but it's not there either.

ok, I'll try this again. when I submitted the changed email address I thought it took but it didn't. It was telling me my passwords didn't match. I wasn't changing them. It was confusing but I finally got it to say my profile was updated. Then I couldn't get logged in to write this message. As I struggled to find out why I got an email saying I needed to click on a link to re-activate my account. Now that that is done I'm back on and hopefully my email address is correct.
