I don know why some of my posted pictures get turned sideways. I couldn’t figure how to get them rotated. I do have some pretty good hills on the farm but none that steep

I wasn't planning a garden but suddenly with the world in crisis, inflation and the gross incompetence of certain political leaders I felt it would be prudent. This is my 60 x 60 ft. garden plot. I've turned the soil, and this weekend will see 22F which should kill the grubs now exposed by the turned soil. A few years ago I put up the 9 ft. deer fence. Had to get a new battery - last one purchased 2014, so I guess that isn't too bad. Kept a maintainer on it. The tractor is in fine fiddle if not as cosmetically perfect as some other specimens here, but just a few projects remain like servicing the transmission someday. Having a little trouble posting link to the picture; hopefully you can see it.

Pic came up great for me!-- DISK PLOW! wow! looks like it does a good job! --- We only got 3/4 of the onion garden raked off and now over 3" of snow last night so we down again til this mess goes away! Our onion plants will be shipped the week of the 23'rd of this month so we see what the weather does by then,-- may have to store them for a week or so. Usually we can plant the day the UPS guy drops the crate of plants off here.
Still need to figure out the hydraulic repair on the 340 rear lift unit. trying to bypass the jerky control valve and use one of the side valves to run the drawbar lift cylinder to run the tiller.
We do have a couple of the TB horse tillers ready so can use them to till up the onion ground if need be.
Found a couple more old windows for the hotbed so will be planting it in the near future.
Plan on more sweetcorn this year since the food bank will take all we can bring in. Potatoes will be about the same amount as last year, ( 300 pounds total. 150 planted here and 150 planted at the Threshermans club show grounds) Sweet potatoes will be 500 plants this year and a lot of different veggies will fill in the remaining 4.5 acres!
Thats the plan as of now,-- and some of it may change by planting time depending on seed supply. We have most of our seed on hand now but dont know how far it will plant.

I saw on the news the other night where 2/3 of the worlds supply of fertilizer comes from Russia and they were going to stop shipping fertilizer. I don’t think the majority of fertilizer in the US comes from there but feel certain that since we deal with a world wide economy it will have an affect on prices. I’m probably further along with my garden this year than some of you due to being in NC and I buy fertilizer in addition to chicken litter. If you plan on buying fertilizer I would recommend getting it as soon as you can. Prices are already sky high and with this inflation we are dealing with I wouldn’t expect it to get cheaper. At my local farm supply 17-17-17 was 28 dollars a bag and calcium nitrate that I use side dressing my tomatoes was 34 dollars as of last week.

Onions came today,--been rainin for 2 days, so no planting for a few days! I did get the ground tilled up the other night before the rain started. It tilled up nice for this early in the season. Our onion area stays soft all year, so that helps.

I’ve just about finished repotting tomatoes from 72 cell trays to 4 inch pots. It looks like I’ll have 500 plus plants. I hope to start putting them in the ground in two weeks. My rows are all laid out but it’s going to take a several more evenings after work to get my stakes put in

Still snowing up here in Mountain Maryland. I'd need a canoe to plant anything here. Be lucky to even get the garden tilled up before May 1st. Tomorrow's high is forecast to be 39.

Wow, May 1 is a dream for us! Seems as if I am lucky to work in the field in June!
