Plums will be ready to harvest in a few weeks. I need some suggestions.

I have been making plum wine, but I still have several gallons from last year. We purchased two decorative plum trees, not supposed to fruit. Not sure what went wrong but we have nice sized purple plums, a lot of plums.

Have a party. Invite the neighbors and relatives. Next morning you will have empty gallon jugs.

As far as having a party with my plum wine. Not. It's to good for the neighbors.

I'm not a big jelly fan. I was thinking about cooking up the plums and then making plum cobbler or plum bars.

Problem is what do I do with the rest of the plums.

Don:

Now there is an idea. I'm afraid that by the time Cubfest comes around the plums will have been tree dried. Hey purnes. I'm sure some of the members on this board could use a few prunes. Me included.

Eugene:

Ask Em for her Plum Flan recipe... that should take care of at least a mess of em. We have two Damson Plum trees.. and every second year we get a good crop, some years a bumper crop.

We eat em fresh, we make plum jam, plum flan and I make Kartofellknoedle mit Plaumen (plums inside potato balls) as a nice different old country dessert.. schmeck gut :!: :!: :!:

Hope that helps a bit...
