Row Width for 144 cultivators

I am planting sweet corn and want to cultivate with the 144 cultivators, What should I plant the row width at.

Phil - I'm not sure where you have your rear wheel track set but if you measure center to center on the rear treads and space your rows the same you will be able to straddle the rows with your tires evenly placed between the rows. This will give you plenty of clearance as the crops grow and spread out.

If your rear wheels are say 44" center to center then space your rows somewhat close to that.

I plant mine at 36" and cultivate with the wheels at 40". I don't think spacing is very critical... but narrower spacing allows more rows. Crooked rows allow more plants per row. :D

PWL,

It doesn't matter what width the tires on the Cub are as long as you plant and cultivate with the same tractor. Just follow your wheel marks, no problem.
