There was an article about this org in the Oneonta star during the summer. Evidently they are a group that will plow and plant for a farmer in trouble, accident, weather etc. They are mostly in Notrth Dacota and with in 50 miles of the decota border. They are limited by funds. During 2007 they planted about 8000 acres for 20 farmers in trouble. There is hope to be able to harvest too. There AD is http://www.farmrescue.org.
I think it is quite a commendable venture.
The article was Associated Press and the author is Blake Nicholson.
Any body else heard of them.
I like to eat so much that Bev and I will make a contribution. I always feel don't be part of the problem, be part of the solution.

I've never heard them, but it sounds like a commendable effort. Other than a very few special charities in which I contribute, I always want to know how much overhead exists. I can't do much about the government overhead, but I can decide about others. There's too many fatcats out there making too much money for what? That reminds me. I have to get a check out in the AM to Robert Tilton. He needs my support
Larry

Funny, I just read this after watching the news. The news says 82% of americans say the US is going in the wrong direction and that most people in the world hold a negative opinion of the USA..........

articles like that never make the news as it should..... made me feel good just reading it and drives me to want to volunteer more than I do.

It is great for people to help out other like that. When I was growing up in this part of the country, things like that were common. If someone were sick, hurt, or just behind with crops, neighbors would show up, and do what was needed, sometimes to the point of creating some hardship for themselves. There are several incidents of it, but the one that stands out most in my mind happened about 55 years ago. I had just had my tonsils removed (which required hospitalization at that time), and on the way back form visiting me my parents were involved in an accident that totaled out their car (only vehicle). Living on a small farm was tough in those days. We lived a mile off the highway on a private road 5 miles form town, but the next day a neighbor (Lawrence Proctor), drove to our house and handed Mom the keys to his Pickup (his only vehicle), and told Mom she should keep it till Dad was back on his feet, that she needed it worse than he did. He could ride his horse or hitchhike if he needed to go some where. We had some very special neighbors.

It is written when you help someone you will be paid back seven times over. In my opinion just helping someone that really needs help and them looking at you and saying; thank you is that payment plus.

Farmers are the back bone of this country. You can live without petroleum, but you can not live without food.
