Good topic. In or out of season.

Saw a hen turkey today. She must have a nest on top of the ridge. Usually see 3 or 4 turkeys when driving the tractor. Can't find one during turkey season.
I have an excuse. CRS.

well, I started the plots this past weekend. I have three different plots and plan on planting two of the plots in annuals and the third in a perrenial. I will post some pics as soon as I can get the camera out of my wifes hands

I have a 40 acre camp in Maine where I hunt and get away from this crazy world.
A few weeks ago I had a fight with a porcupine that would not go away. He kept banging on the camp (BANG BANG BANG) on the side on the building right at dusk than at 3:00 am and again the next night at dusk) I would go out and chanced him away. The third time I took a few shots at him with my 380 and he did not come back. Last week I took a 20 ga 870 with 3" number 4 shot but he did not show up for the party.

I must have dispatched 20 or so porcupines in my life. They love eating plywood, especially the T-111 type found on most camps. I think it's the glue used in the manufacturing process. Here in Vt. our bow season just closed. I won't be around for rifle season because I'm going to Kenora, Ontario for the first time with a group of family and friends. My two sons did quite well there last year. Then to New Vineyard, Me, above Franklin, for the end of November. I will be back to Vermont for the December muzzle loader season.

This is a picture of my son Fred (who lives in NH) and the 215 lb, 13 pt deer he shot in Ontario last year....
Image which turned out to the the largest of a group of 5

And a picture of my son Scott and the 185 lb, 8pt deer....
Image which turned out to be the smallest of a group of 5.

Six guys hunting.

Kevin, I've been after a ground hog in my back yard all summer. Seems he only comes out when the wifes home so sticking a gun out the window is a no no. He's to smart for a trap... I was winterizing today and made a pass by him within 10 feet, I just ignored him and went on. I then grabbed the bow from my truck and he was gone again...
Oh well, next spring I guess...
