Ok we have just been given the ok to get some apples from two other properties and I would like to make some cider but to be hones I dont want to spend 250-350 :( in cash for a press. Do any one have plans for a apple cider press?

you know I wanted one of these for my shop I think I can make it dual purpose if I got a pressing basket.

You are evil, giving me ideas like that. :lol: I wonder how hard it would be to make a basked that you could control flow well enough the juice would not get all over everything.

Well the 20 ton press was on sale this week so I got it for 199. plus tax. Now it is time to hunt down stell or cast iron pots at good will. Then I will take my dremal and make some slots or holes in them. Next I will find a pour pan..
I will post pics as It comes along.

shame you aren't in upstate NY. I have a wine press sitting in the shed doing nothing. Don't think I will get near it in time to do any good. The 3 week trip to Stone Throw and Hilton Head will probably get there after first killing frost. Oh well maybe next year.
