I'm not sure I like this

Postby DanR » Fri Dec 26, 2008 3:00 pm

The weather around here has been crappy the last couple of weeks. Some rain most days and heavy rain a few times. Lows in the teens to mid 20's with two nights getting down to near zero. Nice the last two days 50's yesterday and 62 today. So whats wrong with that? Today was perfect for a walk around the place. The trees, red oak, Bradford pear, Yoshino cherry, poplar, and lilac all have new buds. A few dandelions have blooms. And this is still December! I usually trust what the trees, birds, and worms tell about coming weather. A hard March frost and I will really have something to whine about. :x Is this an omen of some kind?

That would be a bad sign,--BUT I saw the dandelions here the day before the first big snow!---our trees are not showing buds so far, but we are further behind you with our seasons here!---could be interesting winter for most of us! thanks; sonny

The old times said "Thunder in December - a winter to remember" We had a bad thunderstorm about a week before Christmas. Have to wonder whats next. 75 degrees two days ago and now back to the deep freeze. Most of our precip so far has been liquid. Haven't got to try out the snow blade on the cub :(

We were "iced in" and had a couple bad fast moving lightning storms here, and the ice/snow have now melted, then flooded areas not far from here!----Back to the teens here and wind chills near zero!
The long range forecast , from what I can see is that they are calling for another cold/late/wet spring for 09, so could bad! thanks; sonny
