Does any one raise honey bees .Would like to find information on how to get started from someone who has honey bees. Thanks

Probably the best way to learn about beekeeping is to find a local beekeeper and ask them if they would mentor you. To find such a person, contact your local ag extension office. Have them give you the name and contact information for the State Apiary Inspector. That person should be able to recommend someone in your area. In the meantime, get yourself a copy of "Beekeeping for Dummies" (no reflection on you), and read it several times. It will introduce you to the basic principles and terminology. Good luck.

you have received some excellent advise, i would also recommend buying every book on the subject you can find at a reasonable price . or unreasonable if you have it like that having a working knowledge of apis melafara and there habits helps put you at ease when working with them,which puts them at ease . they know when your shaky. so take it easy and also the best advice i heard so far was if possible find a mentor ,they always can use the help and join the county bee keepers assoc. check the state and they will lead you to the nearest in the county.
