has anyone tried the top bar hive? i would like to keep bees but need to finish fencing my place first. -dave

ha ha- the fence is to keep the kids next door outta the backyard. they will mess with the tractors,chickens anything else they can find--especially when we aint home! and if you say anything to the parents well it is your fault that your fence aint good enough to keep em out!
so i am putting up a 6' 1/2 foot board fence all the way around the back yard. if i would have done some of the shindigs these kids have done my daddy would have beat my tail.

Everyone's bees make it through the winter? Mine did. They're starting to bring in pollen. Probably from the maples.

BOY I had a good Honey year and so did my friend! He got 110 55 Drums full of honey! But he has 2,000 beehives! I only have 6 but I got 5 5gallon buckets full! All SoyBeans!
