Blackberries ... Yummy!

Postby Trent M » Sat Jul 04, 2009 7:31 pm

Its still slightly early around here, but there are a few ripe wild blackberries. I picked about half a gallon yesterday and we have been snacking on them all day. :D Serious picking should commence in another week or so, LOTS of red ones waiting their turn. Mmmmmm ... blackberry cobbler and jelly!!

Gotta wait till late July or early August here in the mts. of WV. Raspberries should be coming on anytime now.

I got about a gallon of big, fat, juicy tame blackberries this evening. All the rain has been great for the berries this year. We got about 3 inches this past weekend, perfect timing as the berries finish ripening!! :D

Just saw some raspberries in a weedy area on our property this evening. They're not ripe yet. Blackberries won't be ready till late July/early August. Of course, all the wild berries are in the same areas as poison ivy.
