I have heard reports about folks finding sheds already this year. Personally, I have never found any until late February or later, but maybe that's because I never go out looking until then. The weather is nicer. :D

Usually start finding them in early March. Weather is warmer, weeds not up and bugs not out. Have found nothing spectacular. Usually enough to give to my brother who uses them for knife handles.

I have an excuse. CRS.

Ahhh... I forgot about the shed Tristan M found last year in mid-February. We weren't out specifically looking for sheds, but Tristan rode up on this nice Southern Illinois antler on his 4 wheeler. I took this picture with my cel phone and its was on February 13, 2009.

Nice find Tristan!!!!!!!!

I found one a few years back while driving my car it was in the leaves sticking out like a sore thumb. Now i'd like to get more. I'd like to go north and send my kids out looking for moose sheds too.
