Of course!!! Hunting season is over here and I can tell.We had snow most of the winter.Very few tracks in the snow. They know the safe places around here and do a good job hiding.Next year I hope to put feed out for them.I have to many other "pests" also for a feeder. No deer this year, only saw a few.Still, bad day hunting better than working[not in my case though].  Kevin

I couldn't sleep lastnite and got up around 12pm. I looked out at my deer feeder and we had deer all over the yard. They been there everynite so far which is weird for them. In the past they are here every 3 or 4 days they make there rounds. I do put out extra corn for them when i fill the feeder and they have the large TSC deer apple blocks too. I'm on my 4th apple block already. If i buy the smaller flavored blocks something takes them away, they will disappear the same night i put them out. I can put the smaller blocks all over the yard scattered and there all still gone. I need to make a larger bird type deer feeder so the feed is covered and self fed.

My use of bird seed is way down since i got Yuey, Duey and Louie (my three kittens who are now full grown) there keeping the squirrels away so the birds can eat. I keep the cats inside while the birds feed. I'm glad i got rid of those pesky squirrels. The bigger plus with the cats is i have no mice droppings on my tractors anymore there gone too.

country cub 2, My wife and I have 18 acres here, 15 of the 18 acres is wild life land, low land with a creek. We are surrounded by farm fields . we see lots of deer , and last year the first Black bear. The Black bear live mostly north of us by a hour or so. Jim

Bigbill, We have a few barn cats, they do help keep the mice population in check! The bald head eagles are back now, and our cats are scared to death of them , they will circle above our property, and the cats know it. The deer are very populated around here, a couple years back you could take 4 deer 1-buck and 3 does , I notice lot of hunters around here will only take the bucks, but not the does, and I suppose that can cause over population. Last year , the wild geese started stopping by a the deer feeder, one day I had 6 geese, and within a week I had hundreds, people from all over would visit, and come to see all the geese in my yard, I did stop feeding, and about a 2 weeks the geese left. CC2, The area around me does get hunted pretty hard. I like Bow hunting and muzzle loader. Slug season is huge around here, and I choose to stay out of the woods during gun hunting. You would not believe some of the guys out here how they hunt...mix in a little drinking, and watch out! If it moves ,its a target! , every year someone gets hurt in a hunting accident around here, Few years back, a father shot his 6 year old son with a 12 gauge turkey hunting , killed his young son, he was intoxicated when the hunting accident happened. for me, I like a few cold beers, but I never drink and hunt, after the hunt is another story, Jim

some of my tame geese and mallards stay close to the house, but the wild geese have taken over my yard. after a few weeks my wild geese would walk side by side with the wild honkers. it truly was fun to watch. Jim
