Farmall Cub

Vegetable garden harrowed today by my wife on my our cub . We incorporated lime into the soil at 1.5 tons/acre. My cub is running better that it ever has, but I wonder if it should have more power. It does not have the power to disc in second gear, and I can't add much weight or angle the harrow all the way but I am very happy with the results. Lots of gardeners would be envious of how well your set up works. Only thing I see missing is the lemonade.

Have you checked the timing? I had similar problems with a Cub with a distributor ... would start and run great but had trouble pulling the disk. I set the timing spot-on and can now pull the loaded disk around pretty easily. They can start and run great with the timing off but it really zaps the power.

Your soil is breaking up nicely, btw. Looks great!

I just had the distributor apart and probably should have spent more time timing the motor. However, the garden is shaping up nicely. Spring is the best!

Looks good. I kept mine in 1st gear for most of my gardening activities. You picked a great day to get out there today. My wife and I are off tomorrow to start our planting of peas and spuds. Spring in New England !

The soil is really breaking up very nicely. Looks like 'good dirt.'

As I watched the video, I noticed, what I think is excessive play in the front end. Not what we refer to as sloppy steering, but rather the front axle moving forwards and back. You might want to check out the mounting in the center of the axle for excess wear or looseness. I hope I'm not crying 'wolf.'
