Good Morning All,
Does anyone us Preen Garden Weed Preventer?

Do you use it on corn?

What do you use it on?

Any suggestions on do's - dont's?

I have never used it. Often wondered if it could be used on veggies. Hope you get an answer. I am interested too.

The neighbors use it and like it in their flower beds. We tried it this year but also put down a thick layer of new mulch, so I guess I won't be sure if the mulch or the Preen is at work. It seems to me that the usual spring stuff is still coming up.

I will also be interested in others responses.....

I bought some this year but have not tried it yet. The instructions list what vegetables it can be use on. My main use is on tomatoes, once I put the cages around them it is hard to weed, so I am hoping it works as advertised. I used to have a neighbor who said his idea of heaven was a place where everything worked as advertised.

I use it on everything and have for many years , with good results here!--A tip : use one application, followed by later ones will help spread out the protection longer in the season and remember for it to work you have to remove the growing weeds first, because it only attacks the weed seeds as they sprout! thanks; sonny

I can't tell you much about it, cause my wife's the gardener, here, but she uses Preen and swears by it. I don't have a clue what her application procedure is, I'll have to ask her.

There have other threads here on grass killers. I have used and still do, Hi Yield Grass Killer in my vegatable garden to get the grass between the plants my cultivator can't get. It works but it says not to use on corn, okra, and egg plant. I always took them at their word. This year, a lone corn stalk came up in my butter beans. As I was spraying the butter beans, I sprayed the corn stalk just to experiment. It killed the corn stalk just like they said it would. I realize this is not related to Preen but just threw it in here FYI.

We use it on flowers. Had put it on onions for a number of years, but Wife said no this year. As we travel around the country I never seen a weedy onion field, they must use some sort of weed control.
