Garden Pictures

Postby Tezell » Tue May 24, 2011 8:07 am

Here are some pictures of my garden. It has been so dry here it has only rained about 1/2 inch since I planted. I have had to water it several times a week to get it to this point. :big give up: In places I did not get a very good stand. We did get some cucumbers and squash off of it this weekend. Kathy cooked the squash last night and man they were good. Nothing like fresh from the garden veggies.

Awesome, Tim !!
We have enjoyed several meals of fresh squash so far. Can't beat those fresh veggies. Hoping for some corn in the near future.

One can at least add water my garden is a sea of mud with chance of rain everyday for the next week. Squash is out of greenhouse to keep it from growing very fast but can't plant. Soil is a sandy loam and we are 100 feet to water so it only takes a couple of days. Vern

Looking good, but I sure wish I could trade you some of my rain for some of your sunshine. In the last 45 days we have had 14.7 inches of rain, and my garden is a sea of mud, which needless to say is not planted yet.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

If we could figure out how to do it, we would be happy to give you some sunshine for some rain. Extreme drought conditions down here right now. 20%-30% chance of rain today & tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed for us.

Yep finally we are getting some rain. If I had not watered my garden I would not have made anything though. I lot of folks in our area lost their gardens completely. It has been one strange weather year. Here are some of the last pictures I took.

Wow, Tim! Nice looking garden, especially the peas. I did not plant peas, but had a really good crop of squash, tomatoes, pepper, and corn. Maybe just me, but my tomatoes have been some of the "tastiest" I have enjoyed in a very long time.
