Is it a full barrel choke or tube?

You PROBABLY are fine. Rifled slugs are designed to be safely fired out of even a full choke. That said, you usually get best results from improved cylinder. A full choke will probably not be as accurate. Read the box of slugs carefully. It will mentioned if it is one of the slug designs that should not be fired from a full choke.

I know you should not fire normal deer slugs through a rifled shotgun barrel.

I bought 3'' federals.Choke is adjustable with three settings . I let my son take most of my guns. He left me single barrel 12 ga ,22,12 ga pump with choke, and a 58 cal.black powder that I would like to sell .
Thanks Todd. Johnny J

If it's adjustable, I would use the improved cylinder or most open setting.

It won't hurt the choke. It will however sqeeze the soft lead slug as it passes through, deforming it a bit and giving you some errant slug flight. If it's adjustable, I'd open it up.

Is the choke rifled? If it's rifled opening it up to IC might be too open.

I'm guessing it's one of the old Poly-Choke or Cutts Compensator type twist chokes with various settings.
